Donald R. Virchow

Funeral services for Donald R. Virchow, 76, of Rochester will be at 11:00 am on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Luke's Cemetery in Eitzen, MN. Donald Russell Virchow was born on June 9, 1942 in Northwood, IA to Russell and Delores (Gordon) Virchow. He died on January 29, 2019 at Cottagewood in Rochester. Donald graduated from Northwood High School. He worked for the City of Rochester as a tree trimmer and later worked for IBM in the parts room. Donald enjoyed farming. He helped on the farm growing up and later enjoyed farming in the Elba area. He raced drag strip cars in his younger years and enjoyed going to Fairs, Tractor Pulls, Steam Engine Days and the Renaissance Festival. Survivors include her daughter, Krista (Scott) Amundson and son, Erik (Lisa) Virchow, both of Rochester. Donald was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials can be directed to Camp Companion.
