Donald H. Prigge

Rochester, MN Donald Hugo Prigge, age 89 of Rochester passed away September 18, 2014 atSt Marys Hospital in Rochester.He was born on November 29, 1924 in Olmsted County, MN to Hugo and Lena (Glassnapp) Prigge.Donald lived all of his life and farmed on the farm which he grew up at in Cascade Township of Rural Rochester.He had a passion for farming and agriculture and was always willing to help out his neighbors and other farmers, very willing to lend a hand, to anyone that needed it.He was a longtime member of Farm Bureau, he also raised Belgium horses and enjoyed taking them to parades and also hooking the sleigh to them in the winter and giving sleigh rides.He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Rochester, where he served as an usher for many years. On April 29, 1967 in Rochester he married Phyllis Wilson, and she survives.Also surviving are his siblings: Walt Prigge (Joan) of Byron, William Prigge (LaMae) of Zumbrota, Kenneth Prigge (Dorothy) of Bemidji, MN and his sister, Helen Miller of Rochester, and a sister-in-law: Joan Prigge of Rochester. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister-in-law and a brother-in-law. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Monday, September 22, 2014 at Christ Lutheran Church in Byron. Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 9:30 AM Monday until service time.Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery.Memorials appreciated to either Christ Lutheran Church in Byron or Trinity Lutheran Church in Rochester.Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
