Funeral Services for Donald F. Bock will be Saturday, August 20, at 11 am at Ranfranz and VineFuneral Home in Rochester, with his stepson, the Rev. Michael Cronin officiating. Visitation will be an hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place next week in Omaha, Nebraska. Mr. Bock, 92, a native of Omaha, Nebraska, and lifelong real estate developer, died Tuesday, August 16, at The Waters on Mayowood in Rochester with his wife and stepchildren by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother,Robert. Donald Frederick Bock was born January 29, 1924 in Omaha, Nebraskato HenryBock and Wilhelmina Armbrust.His working life was devoted to managing and selling real estate. He served in the 8th Air Force as a bomber pilot during World War II. He is survived by Barbara Bock with whom he was married nearly 30 years,three sons, Jeb, Grove, and Andy Bock,withseven grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, and his sister Marjorie. In 1987, he married Ann Marie (Puchner) Cronin of Rochester. In addition to his wife Ann, he is survived byMaureen (Mark) Earp of Apple Valley; Mary Jo Paulson of Wayzata; Marcie (Joe) Becker of Rochester; Monica Copeland of Lakeville; Maggie (Tim) McWilliams of Prior Lake; Mark Cronin of Savage, Rev. Michael Cronin of Janesville, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Don enjoyed fishing, winters in Arizona, and travels around the world, and time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.He was an avid golfer and won many tournaments. He had a keen sense of humor, an entrepreneurial spirit, often saying Shoot for the Moon! He particularly enjoyed WWII history. His tastes were simple, he was very pragmatic and his financial conservatism knew no bounds. The family wishes to extend their thanks to his primary care physician Dr. Jonathan Baines, Dr. Andre Lapeyre and William Schnell, all of the Mayo Clinic-Rochester. The family is especially grateful to thethoughtful and caringstaff atTheWaters as well as Seasons Hospice, and Comfort Home Health Care. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Poverello Fund at the Mayo Clinic, the Alzheimers Association,or a charity of the donors choice. Don will be missed greatly by many friends, but most of all by his family.
