Dena M. Moitzheim

Dena M. Moitzheim, 43, of Pine Island, Minnesota, passed away on August 7, 2016, at Centracare Health System in Melrose, Minnesota. Dena Marie Mertes was born April 5, 1973 in Hoven, South Dakota to Duane and Ardell (Malsom) Mertes. She graduated from Britton, South Dakota High School in 1992. On November 11, 1995, she married David Moitzheim in Britton, South Dakota. They lived in Fargo, Minnesota and Jamestown, North Dakota before moving to Pine Island in 2004. Dena owned and operated AutoBusters in Pine Island. She was a member of the Byron, MN Chamber of Commerce; was a Blue Star Mom and provided event security for the Rochester Civic Center. Dena is survived by her husband, David of Pine Island; her sons, Matthew Moitzheim of Pine Island, Michael Moitzheim of San Diego, CA., and Gunnar Moitzheim of Pine Island; two sisters, Sharri (Randy) Lacher of Christine, ND and Tanya (Greg) Kellar of Woodbury, MN; two brothers, Sean Mertes of Jordan, MN and Clint (Bernie) Mertes of Lakeville, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 12 at the Church of St. Michael, 451 5th St. S.W. Pine Island, MN. officiated by Father Randal Kasel. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the mass on Friday at the church.
