Delores Holland

Delores M. Holland, age 86, died on Thursday, March 22, 2018, at her home in Rochester. A celebration of life will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, with a visitation one hour prior. The burial will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 26, 2018, in Grandview Memorial Garden in Rochester. Delores Mae Searles was born on July 15, 1931, to Harold Sr. and Johanna "Hannah" (Feil) Searles. She graduated from Byron High School in 1949. Delores attended nurses training at the Kahler School of Nursing for three years and graduated in 1952. She moved to San Francisco, CA where she worked as a registered nurse. In May of 1954, she married Richard D. Holland in Washington State. They lived in Missouri and had three children before moving to Minnesota. They later divorced. Delores worked at Rochester Methodist Hospital as a registered nurse for over 30 years before her retirement. She lived at Shorewood for over 18 years where she gained many special friends. Delores was always willing to help with activities and projects there. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, watching the MN Twins, cross-stitching, crocheting and knitting. Spending time with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was very important to her. Delores was known for being very caring and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Delores is survived by her children, Michael (Dawn) of Detroit Lakes, MN, Phillip (Louise) of San Diego, CA and Mary (Keith) Lonneman of Benson, MN; grandchildren, Christine (Karl), Brenda (Doug), Becky (Dan), Daniel, Melissa, Aimee Marie, Scott and Joseph; great-grandchildren, Finn, Elsie, Charlotte, William, Warren, Kate and Lydia; brother, Gerald Searles of Plainview; many nieces and nephews. Delores was preceded in death by brother, Harold Searles Jr; sisters-in-law, Donna and Virginia.
