Dean Richard Crowson passed away Thursday February 16th at his home surrounded by his loving family after a brief battle with ALS. Dean was an employee at Barlow Foods for 22 years, followed by the City of Rochester, Rochester Public Library, until his retirement in 2011.He enjoyed touring the country on his motorcycle with his wife and friends, watching the Vikings and Twins. Dean also enjoyed playing softball and shooting pool. Dean is survived by his devoted, loving wife Jackie;children Lydena Oddo (Zach), Chad Crowson, and Stefanie Crowson (Elsadek); step-children Robert Smith, Ken Smith, and Jamie Smith (David); step-mother Janet (Crowson) Stenberg, siblings Hans J. Crowson, Edward E. Crowson (Lorrie), Meryl K. Crowson (Roberta), Cheryl A. Crowson Anderson, Cynthia S. Crowson Riley, Jeffrey D. Crowson (Melinda), Lisa M. Crowson Gaulrapp (Jeff), Mark Crowson, Samuel Crowson, Daryl Crowson Jr, Walter Stenberg (Laurie), Wayne Stenberg (Louise), and Wanda Stenberg; three grandchildren, Hope, Corey and Kristofer; and many loving nieces and nephews, as well as the maternal branch of his family tree residing in Germany. He is preceded in death by his mother, father, and maternal and paternal grandparents. A celebration of Dean's life will be held 3:00-8:00pm Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Willow Creek Golf Course 1700 48th St. SW, Rochester, MN 55902.
