Dawn Marie Zollman, 58, of Rochester, entered into rest on Saturday, August 22, 2015 due to a sudden accident. Dawn was born February 17, 1957 in Willmar, MN to Floyd and Claudette (Skimland) Miner. She grew up on the now 6 generation farm and attended country school through the 6th grade. She attended Junior and Senior High in Willmar, graduating in 1975. Dawn attended Bible College in Gering, NE 1976-1977, and then went on to a Vo-Tech school in Indianapolis, IN in 1979 to obtain her degree to be a surgical technician. Dawn was employed by St. Marys Hospital from 1980 to present. She was baptized at Lake of the Woods in 1973. She loved helping others and that showed with her helping to construct 6 Habitat for Humanity homes from start to finish, making numerous trips to the Dominican Republic and Oklahoma, volunteering at Ironwood Springs Christian Ranch and Oxbow Park/Zollman Zoo. Dawn cleared trails in the BWCA since 1986. She loved traveling, hiking, fishing, skiing, bow hunting, chain sawing, photography and helping friends. Dawn is survived by her mother, Claudette Miner of Willmar, MN; twin sister, Meredith (Kevin) Earley ofAlliance, NE; brother, Mark (Tammi) Miner of Willmar, MN; sister, Kathryn (Dana) Burnell of Sammamish, WA; 4 nephews; 2 nieces; aunt, Pat (Jack) Nicholson of Blaine, MN and 5 chainsaws, Paul, Pauline, Rosalie, Eva and Mary Ellen. Dawn was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Paul Zollman, DVM and by her father, Floyd Miner. A funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester. Visitation will be held 5:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Pastor Gene Follis will be officiating with interment at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Life Family Services, Oxbow Park (Friends of Oxbow) or Ironwood Springs Christian Ranch in Stewartville.
