Funeral services for David S. Holland, 61, of Rochester, MN will be at 3:00pm on Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes.His body will be cremated after the service and his cremated remains will be buried at Arendahl Cemetery near Peterson, MN at 2:00pm on Monday, January 7, 2013.Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00pm on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and also 1 hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home. David Silas Holland was born on February 20, 1951 in Lanesboro, MN to Silas and Lillian (Kvamme) Holland. He died on January 2, 2013 peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. David graduated from Lanesboro High School and Winona Technical College, receiving degrees in carpentry and tool and die.David married Dixie Prinzing on December 10, 1983 in Stewartville, MN.David worked for the Westfield Golf Course and the Bud King Ice Arena in Winona prior to moving to Rochester in 2002.He worked for the City of Rochester as a Graham Arena maintenance supervisor and at Somerby Golf Course as a groundskeeper.David enjoyed golfing, fishing, the mountains in Colorado, hockey games and sharing time with family and friends.He enjoyed drivingZamboni at the different ice arenas. Survivors include his wife, Dixie Holland of Rochester; his son, Darin Holland and daughter, Jodi Holland, both of Rochester; 2 brothers, Daniel (Leanne) Holland of Blooming Prairie, MN and Ellsworth (Karla) Holland of Rushford, MN; 1 sister, Julie (Gerhard) Heier of Spring Grove, MN and sister-in-law, Karen Holland of Winona, MN and numerous nieces and nephews.David was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, Joshua David and 1 brother Luther.
