David O Wenzel Obituary The celebration of David O. Wenzel's life will be at 1:00 Saturday, May 11th at Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester. Service will be officiated by Rev. Anjanette Bandel. Visitation will be one hour before the service. David Owen Wenzel lost his battle to cancer on Friday, May 3rd at the Methodist Hospital. He was born October 13, 1941 in Aberdeen, South Dakota to Otto "Shaky" & Erna Wenzel. He graduated from Austin High School in 1959. He graduated from Mankato State University in 1963 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business. Dave and brother Rod purchased Austin Carburetor & Electric from their father. They owned and operated Wenzel Automotive & Parts in Austin. In 1986 they purchased National Bushing & Parts in Rochester, MN. In 1962 he married Vicki Watkins and they had two children Kari & Todd. They later divorced. On October 8, 1994 he married Sharon Mullenbach at Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester. Dave had a giving & generous heart that manifested in his love for fishing and cars. He loved car shows. His other passion was fishing for walleye. He loved fishing with his buddies or just enjoying the quiet time in the boat. He so looked forward to the grandkids visit every summer - fishing, water skiing or tubing, and ending the day at the ice cream store. Dave was a friend of Bill W. for over 33 years. David is survived by his wife Sharon, Daughter Kari (Thomas Cantrell) Blairsville, Georgia & Son Todd (Kelley) Canton, Georgia. Grandchildren Owen & Chloe Wenzel. His sister Judy DeYoung Austin, Minnesota & brother Rod Wenzel Austin, Minnesota, Sister in law Joan Wenzel Fargo, North Dakota. Father-in-law & Mother-in-law Jerome & LaVonne Landherr Adams, Minnesota. Nephews & Nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Warren and sister Arlene, brother-in-laws Corlos Hartwig and Don DeYoung, niece Deborah Schammel.
