David Matthew Cox

David M. Cox, 40, of Minneapolis, MN and formerly of Rochester, died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at his residence in Minneapolis. David was born May 13, 1972 in Rochester, MN. to Robert and Ellen (Hansen) Cox. He graduated from Mayo High School in 1990 and then attended Rochester Community Technical College and Winona State University and worked as a ski instructor in Vail, CO.David also attended the Minnesota School of Bartending and currently worked at Dicks Last Resort in the Mall of America. He enjoyed skiing, hunting, fishing, and was an avid outdoorsman.He was a member of Zumbro Lutheran Church in Rochester. He is survived by his parents Robert and Ellen of Rochester, MN; two brothers, Joel (Lisa) Cox of Leawood, KS and Christian (Anna) Cox of Ruston, LA; and one sister, Amy (Sean) OHara of Scottsdale, AZ; uncle Stephen Hansen of Austin, MN; seven cousins; four nieces and two nephews.He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 15th at 11 a.m. at Zumbro Lutheran Church, 624 3rd Avenue SW Rochester, MN, with Reverend Vern Christopherson officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, March 14th from 5-7 p.m. at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes in Rochester and one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery Austin, Minnesota.
