David Lee Petersen

David Lee Petersen died on Tuesday January 24th, 2017 at St Marys hospital from complications with pancreatitis. Memorial services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Rochester. Visitation is 5:00 7:00 pm on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and also one hour prior to the service at the church. David Lee Petersen was born on July 26, 1956 at his home in Unity, PA to Ulrik and FloAnn (Brown) Petersen. He graduated from Kiski Area High School in West Moreland county 1974. David earned a degree in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University in Ames, IA. On April 30, 1988 he married Ann Wagner (Black River Falls WI) at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Rochester. David worked for the City of Rochester at the Water Reclamation plant for 30yrs. He enjoyed his sons events and was active with the Boy Scouts. He was an active member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church and played in the church softball league. David enjoyed camping, traveling, bicycling and cheering for his favorite teams the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. He is survived by his wife, Ann; two sons, Derek of Denver, CO and Zachary of Rochester; his father, Ulrik of Pittsburgh, PA; and four siblings, Donna (Rex) Cramer of Lancaster, PA, Ulrik R. (Fran) Petersen of Oklahoma City, OK, Dan Petersen of Omaha, NE and Debbe (John) Renner of Pittsburgh. Will be greatly missed and remembered by nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Dagmar Ann and his mother, FloAnn. Memorials can be directed to the family.
