David Lawrence Geselle, 80, of Byron went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday December 6, 2011 after a courageous battle with leukemia. David was born April 17, 1931 in rural Stewartville, MN., at an early age his family moved to a farm north of Rochester, MN now known as Elton Hills. He graduated from Rochester High School. On December 10, 1960 David married Donna Kappers. They made their home on the family farm until moving to their present farm north east of Byron. David always loved being outdoors, whether it was farming, planting trees, gardening or just driving his tractors. David was a life long member of Rochester Assembly of God Church, of which his family was founding members in 1929. He served as Deacon, Royal Ranger leader and usher for many years. He loved to support missions and participated in several mission trips, supporting organizations such as Teen Challenge and Tree Top Kids. His desire in life was to reach souls for Christ. He attended many bible studies through out his life. His latest a mens bible study on Tue morning. Over the years, his daily devotionals achieved having read the entire bible more than 30 times. David loved sports, boating, water skiing, softball, football and golf. Golf making him a four time hole-in-one trophy achiever. David and his wife Donna spent the last 17 years wintering in Mesa , AZ, where he loved to Golf. Being a successful career farmer, upon retirement he would plant sweet corn and an ample vegetable garden that he loved to share. Survivors include his wife Donna, one son, Mark (Kathy) of Glenwood, MN. Two daughters Stephanie Cors (Josep) of Rochester, Amy Modica (Domenic) of Fruita, CO. Ten grandchildren, Alex, Abby, Arren and Andrew Geselle. Nicole, Natalie and Noelle Cors. Domenic, Connor and Geselle Modica. One sister Rachel Tinsley of El Cajon, CA. and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Ranfranz & Vine Funeral Home, Friday December 9 from 5-7 pm. A memorial service will be held on Saturday December 10 at Rochester Assembly of God at 11am with visitation 1 hour prior to service.
