David F. Overend

ROCHESTER, MINN:David F. Overend, 83, died Saturday, November 8, 2014 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, MN. David Frank Overend was born April 9, 1931 to Francis and Marvel (Kendall) Overend in Pleasant Grove, MN. He served in the Army during the Korean War. David married Carolyn Lilleskov on January 11, 1958 in Rochester. He worked at Mayo Clinic for 39 years. David was a member of Korean War Veterans Club, Widowed Persons Group, and Peace United Church of Christ. David is survived by his two sons, Steven Overend, San Diego, CA and Andrew (Christine) Overend, Rochester, MN; his granddaughter Annie (Greg) Harris, Kasson, MN; his two great grandsons, Luke and Landon Harris, Kasson, MN; his two brothers, Francis Overend, Pleasant Grove, MN and Pat (Linda) Overend, Mantorville, MN; his two sisters, Mary Hawley, Rochester, MN and Sue Hess, Baxter Springs, KS; and his special friend, Dorothy Guenther, Rochester, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Carolyn, his two sisters, Allene Coty and Carol Roer. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Peace United Church of Christ with Rev. Paul Bauch officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, 2014 with military honors. Memorials are suggested to the Korean War Veterans Club of Rochester, MN.
