Rochester- Funeral Services for David E. Holtan, 73 will be held at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, April 13 at 11:00 A.M. With Rev. Wayne Vogt officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home on Tuesday from 9:00AM until the time of Service. David died, after a lengthy illness, at his home on Friday, April 9th, 2010 of Complications of Emphysema.David was born on his grandparents farm in rural Hayfield, MN. March 13, 1937. He attended Country School, and at age 15, he and his musician friends formed a musical group, still known today as the Zumbro Valley Boys. He sang, played the piano, guitar and button accordion. Their first of many performances was held in the basement of the Kasson Home Bakery Coco Cabana Room. They played Country music and Polka's. Music was part of his life. He also liked to Travel. He drove Semi for Star Bulk Company of New Ulm, delivering cheese and dairy products to the East and South Coasts. He drove for about 30 years. He married Jalaine (Jill) Dorman in Stewartville, September 10, 1996. They moved to Rochester about 10 years ago.He is survived by his wife, Jalaine, a daughter; Deborah (Deb) Hardy of Spring Valley, MN. A Grand daughter Jamie Hardy also of Spring Valley, a Brother; Donald Holtan (Peggy) of Rochester, MN. And a number of cousins.
