Eyota-A Memorial Service for Darwin G. Mathews, 70 who passed away at home July 19th in Eyota after a lengthy illness will be held 2:00P.M. Thursday July 22, 2010 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home Chapel in Rochester, MN. Burial with Military Honors will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens . Visitation at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home will be from 1:00P.M Thursday until the time of Service. Darwin George Mathews was born February 17, 1940 in Mankato, MN. To George and Velma(Richter) Mathews of Rapidan, MN. He graduated from Rapidan High School in 1958. He served in the United States Air Force 1958-1962. On July 27, 1963 he married Nancy Erickson in Rapidan, Mn. Darwin and Nancy moved to Rochester in 1963. Darwin was employed as a mechanic at several service stations in Rochester. He also worked at Vans Trailer Ranch as a RV Technician and in maintenance at Apache Mall for 23 years. He retired in 2002. Nancy worked for the Mayo Clinic for 30 years retiring in 1996. Darwin enjoyed Camping, Fishing, Traveling, working on Cars and spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Nancy, a daughter Gina (Jim) Struckmann of Spring Valley, MN.
