Darlene R. O'Malley

Darlene O'Malley, 81, of Rochester, MN. passed away May 18, 2018 at The Waters on Mayowood in Rochester. Darlene Ruth O'Malley was born on March 7, 1937 in Rochester, MN. to Keith and Ruth (Kuhlmann) Sawyer. She graduated from Elgin High School and attended secretarial school. Darlene worked for I.B.M. in Rochester. On October 3, 1959, she married Duane Claude O'Malley in Elgin, MN. Together, they lived in Omaha, NE. and later moved to Bloomington, MN. until moving to Rochester in 1987. Duane died in November 2010. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and of the Priscilla Circle. Darlene and Duane enjoyed collecting antiques, and camping and canoeing in the BWCA. The most important thing to her was spending time with family. She is survived by her daughters, Diane (Mike) Franklin of Burnsville, MN; Doreen (Doug) Evans of Melrose, MN. and Donna (Gordy) Anderson of Shoreview, MN.; her brother Larry (Jo) Sawyer of Elgin, MN. and sister Betty (Cyril) Schnell of Melrose, MN; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one granddaughter. Memorials are preferred to Seasons Hospice. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes 5421 Royal Place NW Rochester, MN. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 22, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ranfranz and Vine. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Salem Corners, MN.
