Darlene Marie Mueske took her last step on the Stairway to Heaven as she entered the Pearly Gates on May 6, 2019, at the age of 75 years old. Darlene battled multiple myeloma, breast, and thyroid cancers since April of 2013. She was surrounded by her loving husband, beloved dog Shamee Marie, and her children in her home. The Mayo Hospice team provided loving support throughout Darlene's journey on hospice. Darlene was born on June 1, 1943, in Winner, South Dakota, to Grace Margaret Struck (Wockman) and Albert Detlef Struck. She was married to Donald G. Mueske on September 12, 1967, in Minot, North Dakota. Darlene (along with her husband Don) owned and operated restaurant businesses: Tarsilla's Family Dining (Stewartville), D & D's Family Dining (Plainview), and Club 52 in Preston. In addition, they owned real estate property in Stewartville and Wabasha. Darlene enjoyed life, the beauty of their land, bird watching, dancing, poetry, reading, camping, hiking the bluff in their valley, East Indian Creek. Most of all, she enjoyed being around family and friends. Her and Don immensely enjoyed their community, friends of Plainview Church of Christ, and their winter home in Mission, Texas, the Lamplighter Community. Darlene and Don shared their joy of cooking to everyone they touched. Above all Darlene enjoyed reading scripture at home and she loved Jesus. She is survived by six children; Sharon (James) Koch, Deitra (Don) Pickett, Loretta (Larry) Mueller, Bobbi (Kevin) Bell, Michael (Cristy) Mueske, and Dawn (Jay) Miller, her sister, Birdie Ann Burke, and brother, Gary Struck. She has 18 grandchildren and 23 (and soon to be 24) great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her mother, Grace Margaret Struck, and father Albert Detlef Struck, sister's Rita, June, Linda, brother Donnie, and niece Christina, and most recently her husband, Donald G. Mueske, A celebration of Darlene's life will be Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Plainview Church of Christ , 205 1st St. NE, Plainview. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 14, 2019 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester and one hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor Bob Blanshan and Pastor Chuck Coggins will be officiating. The family of Darlene would like to personally thank Dr. Anupam Chandra, Internal Medicine, Hematology, Breast Cancer Departments, Methodist and St. Mary's hospitals nursing staff, for their tender loving care.
