Darlene Dorothy Zempel

Darlene D. Zempel, 70, of Rochester, died Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at her residence. Darlene Dorothy Zempel was born March 5, 1943 in Rochester to Bert and Dorothy (Livingston) Zempel.She worked at Rochester Methodist Hospital as a nurses aide for 2 years.She then worked at Mayo Clinic for 44 years as a switchboard operator, general service department, and college of medicine until she retired. Darlene loved all kinds of music, antiques of any kind, collected 18th century porcelain statues, birds, animals and flowers. Darlene is survived by her sisters, Doris (Les) Hegna of Byron, Karyl Zempel of Rochester and Lynn (Jeff) Olson of Rochester; and several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents, and an infant sister. A funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 2, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes Chapel with Pastor Tony Deach officiating.Burial will be held at Oakwood Cemetery.A visitation will be from 2:00 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
