Darlene Ann Rucker

ORONOCO-Darlene A. Rucker, 76, died on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 after a lengthy battle with cancer at Seasons Hospice in Rochester. Darlene was born in Rochester on June 16, 1936 to Lawrence and Evelyn (Lovelace) Rucker.She graduated from Rochester High School in 1954.Darlene worked as a Medical Secretary at Mayo Clinic for over 35 years.She volunteered at Homestead United Methodist Church in Rochester and belonged to the Mayo Volunteers.Darlene enjoyed gardening, volunteering, fishing, Northern Minnesota, and reading. Darlene is survived by a brother, Larry (Glady) Rucker, of Oronoco, MN; a nephew, Steven (Tamra) Rucker, of Eyota; great nephews and nieces, Jared, Brandon, and Katie Rucker, of Eyota; and a loyal dog, Misty. Darlene is preceded in death by her parents. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 20, 2012 at Homestead United Methodist Church, 400 13th Ave SE, with Jane Day officiating.Visitation will be from 2-5 P.M. onSunday, August 19, 2012 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home and an hour prior to the service at the church.Interment will take place at Oronoco Cemetery.
