ROCHESTER, MN: Dale Merrick Van Heuklom, 86, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, Saturday, May 25, 2013 at his residence. Dale was born July 26, 1926 in Minneapolis to George and Esther (Bergh) Van Heuklom.He was a 1944graduate of Glidden High School in Glidden, WI, and a 1950 graduate of the University of Wisconsin. Dale was a veteran of the US Army, proudly serving his country as a Sergeant during WWII. In 1951 in Rochester, he married Maryellen Adsit. Dale worked for Procter and Gamble , retiring after 33 years of service. He was a member of Congregational Church UCC, the YMCA and enjoyed volunteering his time with the Elder Network and as a driver for the American Cancer Society. Dale enjoyed duck hunting, playing racquetball, golf and table tennis. Above all, Dale loved spending time and making memories with his family. Dale is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Maryellen; children, Valerie (Chuck) Sorenson of Rochester, John (Linda) of Middleton, WI, Tom (Donna) of Byron; 6 grandchildren, Erin (Chad) Brautigam, Matthew (Angela) Sorenson, Amanda (Jason) Pfeilsticker, Ashley Van Heuklom, Michael Van Heuklom, Allison Van Heuklom and 4 great-grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan and Ethan Brautigam and Ayda Sorenson. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, George and Esther and by his 2 brothers, Stephen and Charles Van Heuklom. A memorial service will be held 1:00pm Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Congregational Church UCC, 974 Skyline Dr., Rochester. Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00pm Friday, May 31, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester and one hour prior to the service at the church. Rev.
