Dr. Dale Eugene Chambers died at age 87 on January 14, 2019 surrounded by loving and caring family members at his residence at The Homestead at Rochester, enrolled in Seasons Hospice. He was born January 3, 1932 to Earl and Adriana (Jane) Chambers in Crookston, MN, the last of six children, all of whom had a strong affinity for humor. He grew up on a farm just south of Crookston, MN near Harold Station. After attending a country school, he graduated from Central High School in Crookston at age 16. He then worked under the Agricultural Adjustment Act (which was replaced by the Soil Conservation Service}. Dale then attended Minnesota State College at Moorhead. He started his professional education at Lincoln Chiropractic College in Indianapolis IN. After one semester he was called to serve his country in the Army Medical Corp for two years during the Korean Conflict. Dale finished his professional education at Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Minneapolis MN. In 1956 he graduated from Northwestern College of Chiropractic and married Sigrid Homme of Winger, MN. They moved to Rochester, MN to start his practice as a Doctor of Chiropractic. Dr. Dale continued his practice for over 60 years before retiring at age 85, the second oldest practicing Doctor of Chiropractic in Minnesota. Dr. Dale and Sigrid had 6 children, 3 boys, followed by 3 girls. They attended and served at Bethel Lutheran Church. He served as President of the Southeastern Minnesota Chiropractic Association. He received the honor of being named the Chiropractor of the Year by the Southeastern Minnesota Chiropractic Association. He was preceded in death by his wife Sigrid in 2013, son Gary in 1977, parents Earl and Adriana (Jane), 2 brothers "Bud" Floyd and William; 3 sisters Lola, June and Irene. He is survived by five of his children and their spouses, Dr. Craig and Sharon Chambers, Dr. Mark and Phyllis Chambers, Dr. Kristi and Dr. William Mettler, Mary Chambers and "Dewey" (Duane) Siem, Sara and "J.J." (Jeremy) Miller. He also has 15 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and a Boston Terrier named Jax. Dr. Dale's hobbies and recreation included fishing, boating, water skiing, photography, gardening, playing card games and mechanical repairs of all sorts. He greatly enjoyed travel; locally to Northern Minnesota lakes as well as national and International travel. He loved good food, good music and especially good humor. He thrived on contact with family, friends, pets (he had a special place in his heart for Boston Terriers) and laughter. He was gifted in and had a passion for caring for and helping people. He was an extremely caring father who extended his fathering to any children and adults who visited his family, home and office. He is greatly missed. His example and legacy live on.
