Cynthia (Cindy) F. Larson, 64, beloved mother, daughter, sister and friend, passed away on Sunday, February 26th at Cottagewood Senior Communities in Rochester due to complications from frontotemporal dementia (FTD). She will be remembered and celebrated on Saturday, March 11th at 3:00pm at the Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home chapel. There will be visitation beginning at 2:00pm. Cindy was born in Rochester in September of 1952. She graduated from Mayo High School in 1970 and attended Rochester Community College. She married Allan Camrud of Rochester and had two beautiful children. They later divorced. She worked at the Mayo Clinic for a combined 40 years in various roles, but also served as the Executive Director of the Rochester Symphony Orchestra and Chorale. She was Mayo High Schools homecoming queen in 1970, but it was her light-filled spirit, deep love for her family, warm smile, and positive attitude that marked her true beauty. She was a continuous learner, always eager to attend a concert, see an art show, attend a lecture, or read a book. She loved to travel and relished every opportunity she had to visit her son, Matt and his family in Seattle, a place she loved. She also loved spending time with her daughter, Emily and her family, with frequent trips to Quarry Hill and Oxbow Park on sunny summer days. Cindy had a lifelong dream of swimming with dolphins. As her condition worsened, Matt and Emily took her to Florida where she was able to fulfill her dream. As the dolphin pulled her through the water, she exclaimed I love this! Her family will cherish these special memories in the months and years to come. Cindy is survived by her children, Matt (Christine) of Seattle and Emily (Cap) of Kenyon; five beautiful grandchildren Adam, Andrew, Isabelle, Lillyan and Hank; two sisters, Wendy (Lori) and Annie (Guy); and beloved friend and earth angel, John Douglass. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The Association for Frontotemporal Dementia (AFTD) or to the Mayo Clinic, c/o Dr. Bradley Boeves research lab.
