Curtis S. Eide Funeral services for Curtis S. Eide, 50, of Rochester will be at 5:00pm on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes. Visitation will be from 5:00 8:00pm on Friday, August 25, 2017 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and also one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be on Sunday, August 27, 2017 at the Alden Cemetery in Alden, Iowa. Curtis Shannon Eide was born on August 11, 1967 in Alden, Iowa to Marvin and Ethel (Roske) Eide. He died on August 22, 2017 at the Seasons Hospice House in Rochester, after a 4 month battle with cancer. Curtis graduated from Alden High School and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. On June 22, 1991, he married Kaaren Hemmingson in LeMars, Iowa. Curtis worked as a software engineer for IBM in Rochester for 28 years. He was an avid runner and enjoyed gardening and fishing. He coached his sons in their youth sports (soccer, basketball, baseball) and played guitar and drums for the Family of Christ Lutheran Church Praise Band. Survivors include his wife, Kaaren (Hemmingson) Eide of Rochester; two sons, Nathan and Daniel Eide of Rochester; parents, Marvin and Ethel Eide of Alden, Iowa; one brother, Kevin (Kelly) Eide of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
