Funeral services for Curtis D. Johnson, 71, of Mazeppa, MN will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes.Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and also 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.His body will be donated to the University of Minnesota. Curtis Dean Johnson was born at home near Adams, MN, on September 17, 1941 to Edwin and Daisy (Severson) Johnson.He died on February 3, 2013 at Rochester Methodist Hospital. Curtis graduated from Elkton High School in 1959.He worked for a feed store and later for IBM.He worked in manufacturing, procurement and purchasing, retiring in 1991.He married Cindy Adams on February 16, 1991 in Stewartville, MN and they made their home in Byron, MN.They lived at Mac's campground in Mazeppa the last 5 years.He enjoyed touring with his friends, Matt and Chucky, his dogs, horses, golfing, watching sports on TV, camping, playing cards and cribbage and socialing at the bar. Survivors include his wife, Cindy Johnson of Mazeppa, MN; 1 son, Scott (Julie) Johnson of Byron, MN; 3 daughters, Sherry (Tim) Kiefer of Mukwonago, WI, Susie (Kelvin) Retterath of Mound, MN, Wendy (Joe) Risius of Brownsdale, MN, and 1 step-daughter, Lori (Holt) Badger of Rochester, MN; 16 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and his best friend Mickey.He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
