ROCHESTER, MN Constance Eileen Hand, 92, died on Monday, June 24, 2013 at Samaritan Bethany Home in Rochester. Eileen was born in Kent, OH on April 30, 1921 to Allen and Jean (Waltenbaugh) Brown.She graduated from Hamilton High School and Hamilton Business College in Hamilton, OH.Eileen married Samuel W. Hand Sr. on July 3, 1948 in Bay St. Louis, MS. Sam and Eileen moved to Ventnor City, NJ in March 1950 where they resided for 50 years.Eileen was active in PTA, Girl Scouts, and Church Council.Samuel died September 2000 and Eileen moved to Rochester in September 2001.She lived at Shorewood Place until June 2009 when she moved to Samaritan Bethany Home.She leaves behind the many friends she made at both residences and at Community Presbyterian Church. Eileen is survived by two children, Penny (Ron) Murray, of Byron, and Jeannie (Michael) Stimpfel, of Clarendon, VT; a granddaughter, Carissa Stimpfel, of Minneapolis; two step children, Samuel (Hannelore) Hand Jr., of Pennington, NJ, and Ronald Hand, of Jacobstown, NJ; and six step grandchildren. Eileen is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel W. Hand Sr.; her parents; and a brother, Richard Gleim. Services will be held at 6:30 P.M. on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at Samaritan Bethany Home, 24 8th St. NW, Rochester, MN with Chaplain Jean Boese and Rev. Laurene Lafontaine officiating.A visitation will be held a half hour prior to the service at Samaritan Bethany. Memorials can be directed to the Samaritan Bethany Home or the Alzheimer's Association. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the outstanding staff at Samaritan Bethany.
