Cody William Olson

Funeral services for Cody W. Olson, 24, of Byron, MN, formerly of Baldwin, WI, will be at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Evangel United Methodist Church in Rochester.Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00pm on Friday, May 30, 2014 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and also one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church.Burial will be at 1:00pm on Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Corinthian Cemetery in Farmington, MN. Cody William Olson was born on October 22, 1989 in Mauston, WI to Roger and Jody (Betzold) Olson.He died on May 26, 2014 at Seasons Hospice in Rochester. Cody moved around a lot while growing up but had lived in Baldwin, WI for the past 12 years.He graduated from Baldwin-Woodville High School in Baldwin, WI in 2008.He received his two year technical degree, to become a lineman, from Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire, WI but then went on to work at County Concrete in Roberts, WI. He married Erin Root on March 22, 2014 in Rochester and then moved to Byron, MN.He enjoyed hunting, fishing, four-wheeling and just being with friends and family.He had a positive attitude about life and is an inspiration to many. Survivors include his wife, Erin of Byron, MN; his parents, Roger and Jody Olson of Nekoosa, WI; his in-laws, Steve and Cheryl Root of Byron, MN; his brother, Tyler Olson of Menomonie, WI; his grandparents, Betty Betzold of Farmington, MN and Loren and Sharon Olson of Westby, WI.He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Dale Betzold and his uncle Dale Saltmarsh.
