Clifford Lyle Cocker, 92, of Rochester, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at the Mayo Clinic, St. Marys Campus. Clifford was born January 12, 1924 in Bagley, MN to Merritt and Emma Mae (Lafortune) Cocker. Clifford was a veteran of the U.S. Army, proudly serving his country during World War II. On November 25, 1946, Clifford married Orma Head in Douglas, MN. Clifford was a painter and handyman. He loved the outdoors, cutting wood, reflecting on life and enjoyed history. In his younger years he enjoyed camping and traveling. Clifford was a member of Viola Bible Church. He had a wonderful sense of humor, a practical joker, always willing to help others and was a devoted caregiver to his wife, Orma. Clifford is survived by his sons, Kenneth (Barbara) of Baudette, MN, Paul (Audrey) of Lake City, MN, Harvey (Karen) of Rochester, MN; 7 grandchildren, Susan (Chris) LaBonte, Paul (Linsay) Cocker, Katie Cocker, Joleen (Matt) Tupper, Keith (Marissa) Cocker, Karla (Jake Lukkes) Cocker, Kraig (Samantha Nelson) Cocker and 15 great-grandchildren. Clifford was preceded in death by his wife, Orma; sister, Hazel Robinson; half sisters, Una Cousin and Rose Brittain and by his parents, Merritt and Emma. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester. Visitation will be held 4:00-7:00 PM Friday, August 19, 2016 and one hour prior to the service all at the funeral home. Rev. Les Stevens will be officiating with interment at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
