Cletus Howard Madden was born on June 25, 1933 to Roy and Irene (Whitman) Madden at Tracy, Minnesota. He grew up on a farm near Lynd, Minnesota and graduated from Lynd High School.He attended the University of Minnesota School of Agriculture, then served in the United States Army for two years.He married Mary Ellen Dwire on April 6, 1957 in Marshall.They lived in the Marshall area for several years while working for Dwire Construction and Wild Trucking.He moved to Mankato, then Rochester to work for Dahlen Transport and retired from driving gas transports after 30 years.He spent his final work years as a custodian at Mayo Clinic.Cletus died on March 17, 2015 at his home at the age of 81.After retirement he and Mary enjoyed winters in Florida, Texas and Arizona. He is survived by his wife, Mary, two sons, Terry (Julie) of Fort Dodge, Iowa and Scott (Nancy) of Peoria, Arizona, grandchildren, McKenna, Hunter, Jonathon, Nathanial, Ryan and Joshua Madden, and sisters, Barbara (Wayne) Micka of Hutchinson, Minnesota and Marlet (Ron) Graue of Brandon, South Dakota, other relatives and a host of friends.He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.He enjoyed watching his grandchildren's sports and school activities and was a great fix-it person helping friends, relatives and neighbors with projects. He had a deep, quiet faith and looked forward to joining his Savior in Heaven. Memorial services will be at 11:00am on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Autumn Ridge Church (3611 Salem Road SW).Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.Burial of his cremated remains will be at Marshall Cemetery in Marshall, Minnesota.
