Clarice M. Vitse

Clarice M. Vitse, 81, of Rochester, MN died peacefully in her sleep Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Rushford, MN. Clarice Marie Helland was born October 16, 1936 to Clarence and Mabel (Berge) Helland in Lanesboro, MN. She grew up in Lanesboro and graduated from Lanesboro High School in 1954. She married Millard Vitse on July 28, 1956 at Highland Lutheran Church. The couple moved to Rochester where she worked at Methodist Hospital as a ward secretary. Millard died in 2013. Clarice was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed volunteering at Safe Haven Pet Rescue, sewing, crocheting and attending the Rochester Woodcarver's Club with her husband. Clarice is survived by her daughters, DeVon (Todd) Lund of Rushford, MN and Christy Vitse (friend, Andy VanWettering) of Rochester, MN; six grandchildren, Nicholas (Jenny) DeFrang, Joshua (Adrienne) Amaris, Erica Amaris, Valerie (Chris) Reimers, Tiffany (Joseph) Lawler and Kirsten Lund; and fourteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. A special thank you to the staff at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Home for providing loving care to our mom. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Bethel Lutheran Church with the Reverend Dr. Norman Wahl officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Inurnment will take place at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
