ROCHESTER -Clarence L. Williams, 98, died peacefully on Friday, February 24, 2012 in Rochester in the home he built with his own two hands. Clarence was born in Minneapolis, MN on November 29, 1913 to Alfred and Louise (Schwartz) Williams. He married Lucille Harlan on July 31, 1937 and they were lovingly married for 69 years.Clarence served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.He worked as a Heating and Air Conditioning Engineer for Mayo for over 30 years.Clarence was involved with the Boy Scouts, Juvenile Hockey, and was active in his church.He loved gardening, fishing, and was very creative.There were very few things that Clarence could not fix.Nothing meant more to Clarence than his family. Clarence is survived by a daughter, Jacque Sourkes, of Rochester; six grandchildren, Mark (Nancy) Williams, of North Port, FL, Kimberly (John) Hurley, of Rogers, AR, Jonathan (Sheryl) Sourkes, of Holliston, MA, Krista (Greg) Mulhollen, of Sarasota, FL, Jennifer (Stewart) Sourkes, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, and Jeremy (Kim Plenert) Sourkes, of Winnipeg, Manitoba; and 15 great grandchildren. Clarence is preceded in death by his wife, Lucille; their son, Gary Williams; three brothers, Floyd, Ralph, and Allan; and his parents. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, 2124 Viola Rd. NE with Rev. Fred Rengstorf officiating.Private burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery before the service. Memorials can be directed to Our Savior's Lutheran Church or Paws and Claws.
