Christine Winifred Lane

ORONOCO, MINN: Christine Winifred Lane, 58, went to be with her Lord, October 8, 2012 at her home. Christine was born December 9, 1953, the daughter of Kenneth and Lorraine (Grant) Wittlief. She was a 1972 graduate of John Marshall and attended Mid America Nazarene College in Olathe, KS. Christine received her Associate of Art degree in Business from RCTC. On September 29, 1990 Christine married Steven Lane in Rochester. Christine had a passion for collecting glassware and antiques. She loved jewelry and had an outstanding knowledge of many different gemstones. She loved walks in the country, living in the country and enjoying the beautiful Fall colors. Christine enjoyed Caribou Coffee, and loved adventure and exploring. Christine's true joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and taking grandson, Colton on atv rhino rides. She was known as little grandma by her grandchildren.Christine had a warm smile, contagious laugh, tender embrace and would light up the room when she walked in. She loved deeply and lived for Christ. Christine was a devoted Christian and lived her faith, was a giver and encourager to many others. Christine had tremendous respect for her doctors and nurses at Mayo, and was truly grateful for all their care for her.She had a true zest for life and fought a brave and gallant battle against cancer for 8 years. Christine is survived by her loving husband, Steve; daughter, Janell (Thaddeus) Ellenbecker of Rochester; son, Jason Ferderer of Northern MN; stepdaughter, Kriss (John) Lane-Bontrager of Rochester; stepson, Jeff Lane of Rochester; parents, Kenneth and Lorraine Wittlief of Oronoco; grandchildren, Colton and Hudson Ellenbecker, Andy Lane; brothers, Clay (Joanna) Wittlief of Oronoco, Clint (Amy) Wittlief of Oronoco; sister, Roxanna (Peter) Potosky of Rochester; sisters-in-law, Sue Starr of Rochester, Sharon Jacob of Winona; brother-in-law, Cliff (Marti) Couch of Denton, TX and numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Christine's life will be held 11:00am Friday, October 12, 2012 at Christ Community Church 4400 55th St. NW, Rochester, MN 55901 with Pastor Steve Eckert officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00pm Thursday, October 11, 2012 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester and one hour prior to the service at the church.
