Christian Vanderburg

Christian "Bill" Vanderburg, 95, of Rochester, passed away on October 31, 2019 at Arbor Terrace. Bill was born March 26, 1924 in Faribault, MN to Christian and Margaret (Lenway) Vanderburg. He was a graduate of Faribault High School, and went on to proudly serve his country from 1941-1945 as part of the U.S. Navy. On October 13, 1946, in Rochester, Bill married Dolores Kisro. Bill worked for Crenlo Manufacturing and retired after 36 years of service. After retiring from Crenlo, Bill drove cars for rental car companies. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and watching football and baseball. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Dolores; two grandsons, Damian and Nicholas Vanderburg; brother, Chuck Vanderburg and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his son, Douglas; five sisters; two brothers and his parents. A memorial service to celebrate Bill's life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 9, 2019 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Chaplain Nancy Toensing will be officiating with burial at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
