Christene Henricks

Christene V. Henricks, 77, of Rochester, MN, passed away on August 19, 2024, at her home.

Christene Victoria (Ludvigson) Henricks was born on November 24, 1946, in Austin, MN to parents Alvin and Mary (Sowers) Ludvigson. Christene was an only child but never short of family with the multiple cousins, aunts/uncles she was close to and spent a significant amount of time with growing up.

After graduating from Austin High School, she attended Sisters of Saint Francis and obtained a Registered Nurse degree. Later she attended Mayo Clinic's CRNA program and graduated with honors.

On September 10, 1967, Christene married the love of her life, Herbert D. Henricks, in Austin, MN. The couple had two children, Douglas, and Benjamin. They were a close family that enjoyed spending time together. For Christene, the most cherished time was spent in the Brainerd/Crosslake area both in the Crosslake area where her parents had a summer home and later Herb and Christene purchased their own place on Lake Edward in Merrifield MN. Herb, Christene, Doug and Benj spent most every weekend and extended time in the summer at the lake home incorporating all the work that comes along with the constant upkeep of the yard, beach, trees and although demanding work Christene loved every minute of it.

The lake home was their special place where she and Herb brought their grandchildren and introduced them to the joys of lake home living. Photos show the happiness that everyone felt while being there including Herb, Christene, their kids, and families and all the friends they frequently shared their experiences with.

Christene is survived by her children, Douglas Henricks (partner Colleen) of Eau Claire, WI, Benjamin (Kimberly) Henricks of Rochester, MN; grandchildren, Cheyenne (Sam) and Mason (Kristina) Henricks of Rochester, MN; and great-granddaughter Paisley.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Herbert; her parents, Alvin and Mary; family and friends close enough to consider family.

A Visitation will be held from 4-6 PM on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes (5421 Royal Pl NW, Rochester, MN 55901).
