ROCHESTER, MINN:Charlotte R. Sprague, 91, died of congestive heart failure at Samaritan Bethany Home on Friday, October 25, 2013. Charlotte Ruth Boelter was born May 1, 1922 to Herman and Frieda (Buetow) Boelter in Sheboygan, WI. After growing-up and graduating from high school in Montevideo Minnesota, Charlotte attended Valparaiso University from1940-1943.She completed her nurses training at Rochesters Kahler School of Nursing in 1946. Later, after a divorce, Charlotte and her 2 children moved to Windom, MN in 1970.She worked as the Director of Nurses for 10 years at the Windom Hospital and then 3 years as the first Director of Nurses at Bethany Samaritan Heights in Rochester.Charlotte retired in 1984 and moved to Albuquerque for eight years. She has lived in Rochester since 1992 where she has loved being close to her grandchildren and other family members in the area. Charlottes hobbies included ceramics, oil painting and sewing.She loved to follow sporting events as a spectator and was especially fond of the Minnesota Gophers, the Twins and the Faribault Bethlehem Academy Cardinals. Charlotte is survived by her daughter Kathy (Paul) Remtema, Rochester, MN and her son Robert (Janet) Sprague, Omaha, NE, six grandchildren; and her brother Robert (Lynn) Boelter, Northfield, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Kenneth. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes' Chapel. Visitation will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, November 8, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home and one hour before the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be designated to M-K School of Nursing Alumni Scholarship Fund.A private family burial will be planned for a later date.
