Charles Morgan went to be with our Lord on January 28, 2014. He was born in Old Town, Maine on July 8, 1928, to Filmore and Lillian Morgan. Charlie graduated from Old Town High School in 1945. He joined the Marine Corps on July 17, 1945 and was honorably discharged as a Corporal on July 16, 1949. He then attended the school of business at the University of Maine from 1949-1953 and graduated Beta Gamma Sigma from the Indiana University school of business in 1954. During this time he married the love of his life, Jerice Anne Richardson on June 15, 1952. Charlie was a hard working young man, leading him to become President of Bass Shoe Co. in 1975, bringing the company great success. He was also a man of great passion, enjoying time at his Texas ranch where he raised World Champion Quarter Horse, Quincy Feature. He and his wife raised three beautiful children together at their home in Maine, where he also became a Master Mason at the Wilton Lodge No. 156 F. & A.M. Charlie is survived by his loving wife, Jerie; children, David Morgan, Cherie (Chuck) Grimm, and Rick (Blake) Morgan; grandchildren, Brooke Pinkham, Charlie Morgan, Melissa Samuels, Catherine Lauper, Taylor Morgan, Christopher Grimm, Thomas Morgan, and Laura Morgan and great-grandchildren, Olivia and Hudson Samuels. Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, First Lieutenant Cyrus Morgan, Kenneth Morgan , and Verna Brissette. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes' 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester with Rev. Carol Shaffer officiating.Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of the service. Interment will be held at Lakeview Cemetery in Wilton, Maine at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seasons Hospice 1696 Greenview Dr. SW, Rochester, MN 55902 or to the Alzheimer's Association 1001 14th St. NW, Rochester, MN 55901.
