A Cambodian refugee since 1984 and a retired CNA of 25 years at Charter House Mayo Clinic it was the love for his family that gave Chan Kim the determination to provide the "American Dream" for his family. Chan was born on March 5, 1947 in Takeo, Cambodia. After a long and courageous battle of cancer, Chan passed away on January 4, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones who will continue to honor his legacy by living their lives to the fullest. Chan is survived by his loving wife, Sokhorn Sao. He was a proud dad to his 3 daughters: Amy, Phanna, and Tina and his son, Danny. He was truly loved by his many grandkids, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Chan loved spending time in his garden and yelling at the TV when the Minnesota Vikings were playing poorly. Those games were never a quiet evening in the Kim household. His love for quality time with his family meant everything to him. He enjoyed traveling with his family every chance he got. From Las Vegas to Los Angeles to Cambodia and even to Europe, Chan always enjoyed the company of his family and the memories they had made.
