Chadwick "Chad" S. Falk

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Chadwick Scott Falk, our dear son, husband, brother, uncle and friend. Chad (40), from Rochester, MN, went peacefully into the arms of Jesus on September 2, 2019, after a courageous four-year battle with cancer. Chad is survived by his wife, Kate, and their children, Ezra, 10, Sienna, 7, and Amari, 4. He also leaves his parents, Gerry and Elaine, siblings Twila (Kris Driedger), Kevin (Ashley), Doug (Sara), in-laws Rich and Deb Bisset, sisters-in-law Bekah (Wade DuMond), Tishri (Ben Nelson), Josie (Harlan Lloyd), Tikki, and their families. Chad grew up in Carman, Manitoba, Canada, and spent much of his time on the baseball field in the summer and in the rink in the winter. When academically-gifted Chad wasn't in the books, you could find in the gym playing whatever was in season - everything from soccer and volleyball, to badminton and baseball. Summers were spent hauling the pop-up tent trailer to campgrounds across the continent, and playing baseball with the Carman Goldeyes and in the annual Clearwater Sports Day with his cousins. After high school, Chad followed in his father's footsteps and left for the states to study and play baseball. In 2001, Chad graduated with a computer information systems degree from Bemidji State University and accepted a position at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. His dedication to his job and colleagues continued over the course of his career at Mayo. Chad attended Rochester's Calvary Evangelical Free Church and was welcomed into the family of believers. It was there that he met his wife, Kate, and was baptized on confession of his faith. Chad and Kate were married on June 11, 2005. Chad was very involved in church and community sports teams and served as player, coach and manager. His faith moved him to serve the church on various committees, leading Devoted, and was involved in Bible studies, small groups and activities. It was Chad's role as a husband and father that he was most passionate about. His top priority was providing for his family and giving them amazing opportunities and experiences - coaching their sports teams, taking them on ice cream dates to Flapdoodles, and taking them on trips to Manitoba, Florida and the Black Hills. Throughout his battle, Chad showed the same resolve in his faith as he did on the field. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." (2 Timothy 4:7) We'll see you again, Champion Chad. A Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Calvary Evangelical Free Church (5500 25th Avenue NW Rochester, MN). Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, September 6, 2019 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes (5421 Royal Place NW Rochester, MN) and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Burial will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Mayo Clinic Cancer Research or to the family for their children's education funds.
