Cecelia Bloomquist, 96, of Rochester, MN died Friday, November 27, 2015 at Olmsted Medical Center Hospital surrounded by her family. Cecelia Krause was born, October 21, 1919 in rural Lone Rock, Iowa.She graduated from Fenton Iowa High School in 1937.Cecelia married Alvin Bloomquist of Fairmont, MN on December 17, 1943.While Alvin was in the service during World War II, she worked at Plumb Jewelry Store in Des Moines, Iowa.When Alvin returned home from the service, they made their home in Fairmont, MN, until moving to Rochester in 1962.In 1968 her husband and she started the Coast to Coast Store in North Brook Shopping Center.Alvin died on December 2, 1995.Cecelia was a wonderful home maker and had a great sense of humor.She always had such a positive outlook on life. Cecelia is survived by her children, Yvonne (David) Rostomily of Rochester, MN, Richard (Linda)Bloomquist of Windom, MN and Pamela Jandl of St. Paul, MN; four grandchildren, Jodi Alama, Jennie Englund, Scott Bloomquist and Laura Jandl; six great grandchildren; and her brother, Howard Krause of Spirit Lake, Iowa.She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; one brother; and three sisters. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at Grace Lutheran Church with the Reverend Gregory Heidorn officiating.Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. 2:00 p.m. at the church.Burial will take place at Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont, MN on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. Memorials can be designated to Grace Lutheran Church.
