Catherine Kasdagly, 83, of Rochester, died August 16, 2011, at the Gulf Coast Regional Hospice in Hudson, Florida. Born November 26, 1927, on the island of Kalymnos, Greece, to Michael and Maria (Kallias) Tsangaris.On October 21, 1951, in Athens, Greece, she married George Kasdagly, who preceded her in death on July 20, 2011. She has a sister Kristina Kourkoutis living in Kalymnos, Greece.Other survivors include her three sons, Dino Kasdagly (Tricia) of Rochester, MN; Anthony Kasdagly (Gabriella) of Tampa, FL; and Michael Kasdagly (Joan) of Eagan, MN; and her seven grandchildren that she was most proud of; Maria (26), Christopher (24), Nicholas (22), Matthew (19), Alexandra (18), Sophia (13) and Hannah (11). A proud naturalized Greek-American who lived in Clairton, PA from 1936 until 1964, and then moved to Bridgeport, CT and worked in skilled nursing and assisted living care centers until her retirement in 1987.She will be remembered by many for the specialty Greek dishes she prepared, and the love of feeding all her family and friends. Our little part of the world has changed without you and we will miss you dearly.She moved to Rochester, MN in 1989 and attended Holy Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church. A funeral service will be held 10:00am Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Holy Anargyroi Greek Orthodox Church 703 W. Center St., Rochester. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00pm Tuesday, August 23, 2011 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes 5421 Royal Place NW., Rochester. A trisagion prayer service will be held at 8:00pm.
