Carol Schwoch

Carol A. Schwoch, age 83, of Rochester, MN died Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, MN, surrounded by her loving family. Carol was born November 17, 1935 in Dodge Center, MN the daughter of Agnes and Roland Paulson. She graduated high school in 1953 and married Glenn Wasser. They were later divorced. Carol worked in Owatonna, MN prior to moving to Rochester, MN and worked at Mayo Clinic until moving to New Ulm, MN. Upon returning to Rochester she was employed as a meeting coordinator for the American Academy of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology, and traveled with until the Academy moved their offices out of Rochester. She then worked for "We Plan Meetings" and eventually returned to Mayo Clinic where she retired in 1997. In 1973, she married LaVerne (Bud) Schwoch. Following his death in 1986, she was later engaged to Rodger Squires who passed away suddenly. Carol is survived by her three children, Michael Wasser, Michele (Scott) Berndt, and Melanie (Bill) Ollhoff; grandchildren, Jeremy (Jamie) Olson, Angie (Kevin) Manahan, Melissa (Charlie) Ashton, Alex Wasser, Monica Freiband, Bill Ollhoff, and Emily Wasser; great grandchildren, Addisyn and Myles Olson, Lillie and Joseph Manahan, Preslie and Parker Ashton, and Luka Wasser; brother, Winston (Linda) Paulson of Rochester and sister-in-law, Dorothy Paulson, London Ontario, Canada. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bud and fiancé, Rodger; brothers, Harold and James Paulson, stepson, Lynn Schwoch, sister-in-law, Patsy Paulson, nephew Rick Huffman, and niece, Karen Paulson. Carol enjoyed playing Bridge, traveling with friends, was a member of the Mayo Friendship, and very active in her church. She was devoted to her family and took great pride in her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Rochester Assembly Church (4240 18th Avenue NW). Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
