Carol Anne Schatz

Carol A. Schatz, 70 of Rochester, died Thursday, October 18, 2012 at St. Marys Hospital. Carol Anne Kirchner was born August 29, 1942 in Mower County, MN, to Elmer and Thelma (Haarstad) Kirchner.She graduated from Hayfield High School in 1960.She married Duane (Pete) Martin in 1963 and later divorced.She married Gene Schatz on October 8, 1988. Carol worked for IBM in production control.After retirement she worked at Lourdes High School cafeteria.She enjoyed cooking, taking care of her grandson Tanner, golfing, crossword puzzles, traveling, and entertaining friends and family. Carol is survived by her husband, Gene of Rochester; daughter Jennifer (Rodney) Wermager of Rogers, MN; son-in-law, Dale Boelter, Jr. of Rock Dell, MN; one grandson, Tanner Boelter; three sisters, Elaine Taylor of Dexter, MN, Colleen (John) Kvasnicka of Wasioja, MN, and Monica (William) Fiduk of Princeton, MN; one brother, Charles (Phyllis) Kirchner of Rochester;a brother-in-law, Darrel Dalager of Savage; and many nieces and nephews.She is also survived by Genes children, Darren, Merritt and Stuart; seven step-grandchildren; and one step great grandchild.She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Judy Dalager; and daughter, Michele Boelter. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 22, 2012 at Bethel Lutheran Church with the Reverend Anjanette Bandel officiating.Visitation will be from 4:00 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.Burial will 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 22, 2012 at St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery in rural Sargeant, MN.
