Carol Ann Wees

Carol A. Wees, 79 of Pine Island, MN died June 11, 2014 at Pine Haven Care Center. Carol Ann was born to Vernon and Dorothy (Murray) Swenson on June 17, 1934 in Rochester, MN. Carol married Gerald Jerry Wees on May 11, 1964.Together they raised seven children. She worked for the Mayo Clinic for 25 years as a supervisor.She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, music needlepoint, camping and traveling. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Pine Island and Oronoco VFW Auxiliary. Carol is survived by her four children, Michael (Kari) Wees of Rochester, MN, Randy (Amy) Howard Hayward of Pine Island, MN, James Andrist of Atlanta, GA and Chris (Julie) Andrist of Byron, MN; step children, Gary (Becky) Wees and Bonnie (Michael) Oelkers; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and her brothers, John (Joan) Swenson of St. Cloud, MN, Lawrence (Marcy) Swenson of Rochester, MN, Steven (Deb) Swenson of Pine Island, MN and George (Lonna) Swenson of Mazeppa, MN.She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Wees; stepson, Bradley A. Wees; her parents and a brother, Edward Swenson. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes with Pastor Gary Wees officiating.Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.Burial will take place at Pine Island Cemetery.
