Calvin Eugene Larson was born in Cottonwood, MN on April 15, 1924 to Harvard and Christine Larson. He attended schools in rural Minnesota, graduating from Clarkfield High School in 1942. He attended Augsburg College for one year and enlisted in the US Navy. He served on the USS Topeka in the South Pacific and was honorably discharged in May 1946. He returned to Augsburg College and graduated in 1949. Cal married Agnes Valvik on August 23, 1947 in New York City. He graduated from Luther Seminary in 1952; he served as a parish pastor in Gardner, IL and Eleva, WI and in nursing home administration in Menomonie, WI and Oshkosh, WI. After retirement, he moved to the Twin Cities area. He has resided in Rochester, MN since 2016. Cal died in Rochester on December 20, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvard and Christine Larson; siblings, LaVonne Molde, Marlin Larson, and Harvard Larson Jr. He is survived by his wife, Agnes; Children Linda Larson (Jerry Sells), Ruth (Jim) Moes, Dan (Debbie) Larson, and Karin (Greg) Monson; Grandchildren Nick Moes (Alyse Morris-Moes), Matthew Monson, Anna Moes (Joel Benjamin), Kirsten (Jeff) Selby, Greta (Jack) Watkins, Joshua Larson, and John Calvin Larson; Great-grandchildren Joy Selby, Jenny Selby, and Alyssa Watkins; and seven nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home in Rochester on Saturday, January 6, 2018, beginning with a Visitation at 9:30 am, Service at 10:30 am and luncheon to follow. His ashes will be interned at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Metro Hope Ministries (www.metrohope.org, 2739 Cedar Ave S.
