Bruce Rucker, age 64, of Rochester, died on Friday, August 9, 2019, at Mayo Clinic Hospital - St. Marys Campus in Rochester. The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2019, at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens. Bruce was born on December 4, 1954, to Ralph and Genevieve (Miller) Rucker. He graduated from Mayo High School in 1973. After he finished high school, Bruce held many chef positions before attending Rochester Community College where he graduated with an Associate of Arts degree in Marketing, Mass Media and Communications. He went on to Winona State University where he graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Marketing. Following graduation, he worked for Charter Communications as a broadband specialist. He was also employed at Silver Creek Corners as a chef and later at D&R Vending where he retired. On June 13, 2003, he married Wendeline "Wendie" Anderson at the Congregational Church in Rochester. Bruce was a musician playing rhythm guitar in many local bands. He enjoyed watching sports and a variety of educational TV shows. Bruce loved listening to music of all kinds especially the blues. Bruce is survived by his wife, Wendie; mother, Genevieve Rucker of Buckeye, AZ; siblings, Roger (Marilyn) Rucker of Waseca, Linda (Bill) McBurney of Rochester, Jacquelyn (Douglas) Swift of Puyallup, WA, Duane (Patty) Rucker of Buckeye, AZ, Connie (Robert) Moulthrop of Apache Junction, AZ; brothers-in-law, Dale Shulz of Apache Junction, AZ and John Pagenhart of Rochester; several nieces and nephews. Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Ralph; sisters, Cathi Schulz and Rosemerry Pagenhart. Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes is honored to be serving the Rucker family.
