Rochester- Funeral Services for Bruce D. Hanson, 91 who passed away on Monday October 17th 2011 at Sunrise Cottages, where he resided since February 2009,will be held at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes' Chapel on Friday, October 21, 2011 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Bruce Buller officiating.Burial will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN. Memorials are requested to Seasons Hospice or Donors Choice. Visitation will be on Friday from 9:00A.M. Until the time of the service at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes. Bruce was born July 6, 1920 in Chatfield, MN. to John and Allene (Hancock) Hanson. He attended Country School andgraduated from Chatfield High School.He served in the U.S. Army 1944-1946 during WWII and was Honorable discharged as a First Lieutenant.He married Helen E. Dolney in Alexandria, Louisiana in September 1946.He and his wife farmed in the Eyota, MN.Area until they retired and moved to Rochester in 1993.His wife died May 15, 2004. Bruce enjoyed the outdoors and hunting with his sons and friends. Bruce is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Hanson of Rochester, MN; a grandson, ScotHanson; a sister, Audrey Hanson (John) of Chatfield, M; and a brother, StanleyHanson also of Chatfield, MN.He waspreceded in death by his wife, Helen; two sons, Bruce Jr., and Kenneth J.; and a brother, Merrill.
