Brian Stevens, age 58 of Rochester, passed away on September 2, 2023 at his home.
Brian was born on February 3, 1965 in Endicott, NY to David and Vernonica (Krismer) Stevens. Brian and his family lived in many different states as Brian was growing up. Brian graduated from Byron High School. After high school, he joined the United States Navy and served on the USS Trenton as an Electronic Warfare Technician. After returning from the Navy, Brian enrolled at Winona State University and graduated with a Bachelors' Degree in Social Work. Brian married Amy Torkelson, together they had a son Brandon, and later divorced. He later married Erin Thornton, together they had a son Ben and Brian adopted Erin's son Avery; Brian and Erin later divorced.
Brian started his career as a social worker for Zumbro Valley Health Services. He worked for Stevens Truck Center, he did maintenance at several local churches, and he drove for Medspeed of Rochester. Most recently Brian had worked for River Bend senior living in Rochester.
In his free time, Brian enjoyed cheering on all of the Minnesota Sports Teams. He loved doing anything outdoors, whether it was walking, hiking, camping, or fishing. Brian was an avid reader and was always interested in World War II. Most of all, Brian loved spending time with family and friends.
Brian is survived by his children Brandon Stevens, Ben Stevens, and Avery Stevens; grandson Hudson; mother Veronica Stevens; step-father Gene Plantz; siblings Jon (Carole) Stevens and Dave Stevens; step-siblings Steve (Wendy) Plantz, Paul (Mindy) Plantz, and Diane Plantz; many other family members and friends.
Brian was preceded in death by his father David.
Memorial Service will be held at 2PM on Saturday (9/16) at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home, 5421 Royal Place NW, Rochester, MN 55901. Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in West St. Olaf at a later date.
