Funeral services for Brian A. Nelson, 59, of Rochester, MN will be at 1:00pm on Friday, May 24, 2013 at Christ United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Wuehler officiating.Burial will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens.Visitation will be from 3:00pm 8:00pm on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Homes and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Brian Alden Nelson was born on March 21, 1954 in Rochester, MN to Virgil and Eda (Phipps) Nelson.He died on May 21, 2013 at his home in Rochester after a short, tough battle with pancreatic cancer. Brian graduated from Mayo High School in 1972 and went to work for his dad at Virgil's Auto Clinic and Towing.Brian married his High School sweetheart Sherrie Grimm on May 5, 1973 in Rochester, MN and they just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.Brian enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his granddaughters. Survivors include his wife, Sherrie Nelson of Rochester, MN; his sons, Gregory (Jennifer) Nelson and Rick (Tonya) Nelson, both of Rochester, MN and Kory Nelson of Chugiak, AK; his granddaughters, Caitlin, Camrin and Lyla; his father, Virgil Nelson of Rochester, MN and four brothers, Bruce (Bonnie) Nelson, Bradd (Vic) Nelson, Robert (Lavonne) Nelson and Ronald (Lori) Nelson, all of Rochester, MN.He was preceded in death by his mother.
