Brent Robert Tiefenthaler, died peacefully at the age of 56 following complications from a heart attack at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota, on Wednesday, February 13, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. He now rests in the arms of his Savior. Brent is survived by his wife of 25 years, Stacey Pajunen Tiefenthaler, his son Noah and daughter Hannah, students at the University of Minnesota. Also surviving is his mother, Phyllis Tiefenthaler, brothers Dave (Sarah), Jeff (Heather), Tom (Kim), and Ryan (Kim), his parents-in-law Ed and Jean Pajunen, sisters-in-law Therese (Dan), Tamara (Charles), Brigid, and Sara, and many nieces and nephews. Brent graduated with a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University and an M.S. in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University. Upon graduation he joined IBM in Germany, returned to the United States, and was relocated to Rochester. During the process he fell in love by phone over a period of three months with his relocation specialist Stacey, whom he finally met in person and married. Following a thirty year career with IBM, Brent took a project management position with Seagate in Shakopee, MN and returned to Rochester in May, 2018 where he was employed by Western Digital until his death. Brent was a dedicated husband, father, son and friend to many. He enjoyed Boy Scout trips with his son Noah's, gardening and drawing with his daughter Hannah, coaching his children's sporting teams, cooking and entertaining with his wife, family trips, playing cards, and a good laugh. Visitation will be held on Friday, Mar. 1, 2019, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home located at 5421 Royal Place NW in Rochester. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 2, 2019, at 11 a.m. at Christ Community Church located at 4400 55th Street NW in Rochester, with additional visitation time one hour before the service.
