Biola Boe K. Beistad, age 83, of Rochester, died on Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at Mayo Clinic Hospital St. Marys Campus. The funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m on Thursday, December 17, 2015, at Autumn Ridge Church, 3611 Salem Rd. SW, Rochester, MN 55902 with Pastor C. John Steer and Pastor Woody Roland co-officiating. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. The burial will be at a later date in Sell Lake Community Church Cemetery in rural Shevlin, MN. Memorials are preferred to Autunmn Ridge Church or Mayo Clinic Volunteer Services. Biola Boe Karin Bergquist was born on March 22, 1932, on the family farm in Clearwater County, north of Itasca Park, to Andrew and Anna (Mattson) Bergquist. She was baptized and confirmed at Sell Lake Free Lutheran Church. Boe graduated from Bagley High School in 1951. She moved to the Twin Cities and worked for AAA. On October 26, 1963, she married Rodney Beistad at Central Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. She was a homemaker and mother of two children. They lived in St. Louis Park, Coon Rapids and Anoka before moving to Rochester in 1976.Boe enjoyed singing in the church choir and volunteering at Mayo Clinic. Boe is survived by her husband, Rodney of Rochester; son, Kurt Beistad of Medford; Ann (Robert) Hayes of Glen Gardner, NJ; five grandchildren; brother, Bud (Shirley) Bergquist of Newport, MN; many nieces and nephews. Boe was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Curtis Bergquist; and sister, Phyllis Swenson.
