Beverly Jean Reid passed to her heavenly home on Thursday, November 6, 2014 after a long and courageous battle with multiple myeloma. Beverly was born on February 14, 1934, in Rochester, MN to Bert and Ruby (Langseth) Moe.She married Robert A. Reid on July 31, 1954.They enjoyed 60 years of marriage enriched by a deep faith in God, family and friends. Beverly graduated from Rochester Senior High School and Rochester Junior College.She was a secretary for the Mayo Clinic stockroom for 16 years.An active member of the River Trails Girl Scout Council, as a troop leader, consultant and board member, she received their highest award, the Thanks Badge for 20 years of service.She volunteered at the Olmsted County History Center and the Rochester Public Library, where she co-managed the bookstore.Beverly truly loved serving others with compassion and was an active member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Naomi Circle, co-president of the womens club WELCA, and volunteered with the Rochester Water Ski Club, and Elton Hills PTA.She enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, cooking, reading, rosemaling, and traveling.Beverly especially enjoyed her many fishing trips to Canada with her husband.Family get-togethers and her grandchildren meant the world to her.She will be deeply missed by many friends and family, but we know that heaven is now a brighter place with her presence. Beverly was preceded in death by her brother Clint Moe.Survivors include her husband, Robert of Rochester, MN; two daughters, Sandra (James) Glocke of Rochester, MN and Elizabeth (Roy) Emmons of Eagan, MN; four grandchildren, TJ and Dustin Jahnke and Alexandra and Reid Emmons; two sisters, Donna (Gene) Bologna of Phoenix, AZ, and Patricia Newick of Sebestapol, CA. Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 10, 2014 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Rochester, MN.Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, Monday at the church.Private family burial of her cremated remains will be at Oakwood Cemetery Memorials preferred to Seasons Hospice of Rochester, MN.
